Itβs a transparent note on how this repository was built β and the role Cursor played in that.
What Cursor made practical
Cursor didnβt βbuild the projectβ.
It compressed the gap between idea β working system.
Within a short time window, this repo reached:
- a structured monorepo
- CLI + programmatic API
- shared report schema
- consistent documentation system
- integration tests
- multiple refactor passes
That level of iteration speed would normally take significantly longer solo.
Direction was still human
Cursor accelerated execution β but not decisions.
The maintainer remained responsible for:
- what to build (and what not to build)
- command behavior and UX
- defining JSON contracts and API boundaries
- aligning with Node.js / TypeScript / monorepo patterns
- deciding when something is βdoneβ
Cursor helps you move faster β
but you still choose the direction.
Where Cursor actually shines
In practice, agents were strongest at:
- wiring modules and exports correctly
- aligning types with real runtime behavior
- updating docs alongside code changes
- following refactors across multiple files
- chasing test failures and inconsistencies
This is the kind of work that normally slows momentum.
Usage limits β and why they matter β‘
Cursor is a hosted product with plan limits.
During development, the included usage was fully consumed early β
before this repository was even started.
And yet, work continued.
Not because limits didnβt exist β
but because the editor still made iteration viable even under constraint.
What this actually shows
- This project was built primarily using Auto mode
- Not relying on the most advanced or expensive agent tiers
- Still able to translate ideas β working code quickly
That says something important:
the baseline experience is already strong enough
to support real project development
After hitting the limit
Progress didnβt stop. It shifted:
- smaller scoped edits
- more manual control
- tighter iteration loops
And that combination still shipped meaningful progress.
Why this project exists
This tool came from a real blocking problem in another system.
